Did you know it takes 700 gallons of water to make one t-shirt, that’s equal to 137 five minute showers and it takes 1,800 gallons of water to make one pair of jeans. My name is Katie Gibson, Owner of Wright. Wright is a clothing and accessories company that does not harm the environment. When an item is thrown away, it is not only the item itself going to waste, but the natural resources required to create it. 95% of discarded clothing can be recycled or upcycled and yet it ends up in landfills year after year, where is takes 20-40, sometimes 100’s of years to decompose. People must recognize that the most sustainable item is the one that already exists. After being in the Fashion Industry for years, reading about the negative impact the fashion industry has on the environment (it is actually the third largest polluter of water behind oil and agriculture) and believing that fast fashion is not only status quo, but unimaginative, I embarked on a journey to change the perspective about the role fashion should play in making the environment better. Wright designs are made entirely from reclaimed materials. Our clothing and bags are made from pre-owned fabrics and clothing, usually acquired through direct donations or purchased from charity thrift stores. Our wood necklaces are made of scrap wood from wood workers around the country. Destined to be furniture they fell short ending up in the scrap pile and then turned into beautiful necklaces. Just like you our pieces have a past that makes them what they are today, one-of-a-kind.

Clothing with a past for women with a future.
